About
Alicia was born and raised in South Dakota. She attended SDSU and received her Bachelor's of Science in Nursing in 1998. She went to work at Sioux Valley Hospital which later became Sanford Health. Most of her time at Sioux Valley/Sanford was spent working on the Postpartum Unit taking care of moms and babies after delivery and also teaching Childbirth and Breastfeeding Classes. One of her favorite parts of her job was facilitating the weekly "New Baby and Me" group where moms and babies gathered every week and asked questions about feeding, teething, developmental milestones, pretty much anything baby-related! She is still in contact with some of those moms today!
Alicia had babies of her own in 2003 and 2005. She experienced some of her own breastfeeding difficulties which made her even more interested in helping other women during this crucial time.
Alicia left Sanford and in 2011 she passed the IBCLC exam to become an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant and began working for herself at South Dakota Babies. After 10 years under that name, it was time for an update. She now has two teenagers, one in college and one in high school. She is passionate about helping mothers achieve their breastfeeding goals and she loves to provide a customized approach to helping each mother figure out the best plan for her and her baby to thrive.
